Frozen Paws

It was -5 degrees this morning when I dropped Eli off at Lovely.  I took Xena for a walk when I got back and nearly froze my bollocks off.  She was just as happy as can be, but I just couldn’t wait to get back.

We’ve been watching a lot of Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares on BBC lately, so it’s been rubbing off on us.  Very entertaining, if you haven’t seen it before.  I’ve been very inspired to cook lately, too – which is great.

The R/C car race a couple of weeks ago was fun – I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish.  When I used to race as a hobby full time (years ago), I totally burned out on it.  I think if I keep doing it in small doses, I can enjoy it to a much greater degree.  I’m building up an X-Ray now – slow, tedious process – and hopefully I can run it a couple of times by February.  If I can keep doing Scotty’s Novak Race every year, with a few weekends here and there to stay fresh, that would be a good balance.

Eli starts back at UWM next week for her third semester.  She’s taking some really abstract, heady Philosophy classes this semester.  Better her than me!  I’m sure I’ll learn something helping her study.

Work has been rather dull lately, and I’m already looking forward to my next opportunity to take vacation.  We’re tenatively planning to take a car trip (with Xena) down to Tennessee on Eli’s spring break to visit some family.  Should be fun!
