Johnny Cash may have fallen into a burnin’ ring of fire, but I nosed the Volvo into a frozen ring of ice at the end of the alley last Friday to the tune of $655 worth of radiator repair after a nice scrape on the underside.  Ouch.  We’re submitting it to the City, since they’re responsible for keeping the streets plowed and clear of such obstacles, but I’m not holding my breath.  “Worked from home” on Friday and Monday since I had no easy way to get to and from work.  With the Tuesdays and Thursdays off the past couple of weeks to stay home with the dogs while Eli was at work, I was starting to feel like a bit of a slacker from the work-accomplishment angle.  Having to be at work for 8 hours today was like torture.

Edmund started puppy kindergarten tonight, and was a bit timid.  He did pretty well, but we have lots of homework to do in the form of Sit-Down-Stay commands.  He really enjoyed socializing with the other puppies, but I could tell he missed Xena and wondered why she didn’t come along for the experience.  When I got home, Eli confirmed that Xena seemed a bit lost without having him around.  I’m so glad to see that the two of them have bonded and really enjoy having each other for company.

Xena is doing well in her clicker-obedience class – we’ll be at the second one of those on Thursday.  Otherwise, not much is going on.  I haven’t touched the toy cars in days.  There’s a race near the end of the month that I’d like to do, so I’ll consider that.  I went to the outdoor heated driving range on Sunday to whack a bucket of balls and it sure felt good.  Only problem is, by back, neck and shoulders aren’t feeling so hot right now.  I don’t know how I’m going to do anything when I’m 60, considering the toll such a “leisure sport” is having on me at 35.  I clearly need to stop eating so much and start exercising more!
