I’m not really a baseball fan… I mean, I’ll usually watch a game or three of the World Series, but I never just watch some regular season game on TV.  I enjoy taking in a game live, at Miller Park, about once a year.  Or two.  No biggie.  But this brew-ha-ha about our local team lately has been contagious, and even I’ve caught the bug.  Just caught the bottom of the ninth inning against the Dodgers a few minutes ago, and I caught myself jumping from the couch, fist pumping and yelling when Kotsay hit that bases loaded drive to centerfield to win the game 2-1.  Awesome stuff.  I’d really like to catch a game at Miller Park before the end of this season but it may be sold out down the stretch.  7 game lead now over St. Louis!!  This is crazy.  We have some real W.S. contenders on our hands here, folks.

Otherwise, job continues to be great and I have so much else yet to learn and discover.  Seeing some really interesting personalities on the team now that I’m getting to know them.  I think I will do well at Kohl’s.  That’s my prediction, now.

New Job

The first week of the new job was great.  I’m not exaggerating.  Hard to say something really positive these days about cookie-cutter careers in IT,  but I truly enjoyed myself during my first week at Kohl’s Corporate.  Nice people, nice working environment (yes, “nice” is in the eye of the beholder…  I thrive on a fast-paced environment with a never-ending capacity for improvement)…  I really can’t say anything bad about it at all.  I know, ask me again in a month or two.  I’m sure I’ll still have a higher-than-average opinion of the place.

The weather since Monday has been awesome.  Upper 70’s/low 80’s during the day with almost no humidity, 60’s overnight with cool mornings.  I love it.  Considering how nicely the summer started off, I guess I really can’t complain too much about the 3 weeks of heat and humidity – assuming this recent trend continues.  I need to get out and mountain bike more while I can.

Life is going pretty well right now, despite the divorce.  Everything is going to be OK.  Really.
